Swedavia has appointed Ulf Nygren as the new Airport Manager at Kiruna Airport. He will take up his new role in December 2024.

Together with Ulf, we will continue to develop regional accessibility and drive the transition in aviation, says Karin Öhrström, Director of Regional Airports at Swedavia.
Ulf Nygren has extensive experience in building and operating infrastructure as a manager and leader. He comes most recently from SSC Esrange Space Center, where he was responsible for the base's infrastructure, hotel and restaurant, as well as office management. Before his time at SSC, Ulf Nygren worked within the Kiruna Municipality group, including as project manager and head of the Environment and Community Development Administration. Ulf Nygren succeeds Andreas Fredriksson, who left his position on 31 August this year.

Swedavia has an inspiring societal mission, and the airport is incredibly important for accessibility, development, and competitiveness across this entire region. It feels very honourable to take on this assignment, says Ulf Nygren.
Ulf Nygren is 54 years old, a university-trained engineer from Luleå University of Technology, and lives in Kiruna. Ulf will take up his new position on December 13, 2024.
