Aircraft manufacturer Boeing is clearly rising on Wall Street after United Airlines increased an order for the problematic 737 Max model.
Boeing's stock is clearly the strongest performer on the Dow Jones on Monday afternoon, rising 5.5 percent.
Earlier in the day, United Airlines announced that the airline will purchase an additional 25 aircraft of the troubled 737 Max model, which was recently returned to service after a nearly two-year flight ban.
United Airlines now has a commitment to buy a total of 188 737 Max planes. According to today's announcement, Boeing will also accelerate deliveries, meaning 21 will be delivered this year and 40 in 2022, writes Bloomberg.
The current model was grounded in March 2019 after two serious accidents in Ethiopia and Indonesia. Before the end of the year, the plane was once again given the green light to operate in the airspace after the model underwent rigorous tests.
