The Heat look to be making one last guest appearance before winter.
In southern Sweden it can be up to 20 degrees this week.
– But it depends on the cloudiness, says meteorologist Johan Lundgren.
Tuesday will be dominated by clouds in many places with some rain in northern Sweden. In addition, snow showers will move in over the Lapland mountains, where SMHI has issued a class 1 warning for strong winds with snow drifts.
Further south it will be more pleasant. On Wednesday, warm air will flow into the country from the south. A high pressure will strengthen in the east and looks set to remain for most of the week with temperatures of up to 20 degrees in the south.
– It is southern winds that are bringing the air up. As it looks right now, it could be somewhere between 14 and 18 degrees in southern Sweden on Wednesday. This applies to both Svealand and Götaland, says Johan Lundgren, meteorologist at SMHI.
– Up towards Norrland it gets colder, but it is still between five and ten degrees.
TT: How long does the heat last?
– With a little luck it could stay until the weekend at least. But it depends on the cloudiness. If it's cloudy and not sunny it might not be so hot, says Johan Lundgren.
The difficult-to-assess cloudiness means that fog clouds can be created, especially in western Svealand and up over Norrland.
