The US aviation authority is grounding 171 737 Max-9 planes, the authority writes on X. 

The decisions come after an Alaska Airlines flight was forced to make an emergency landing in the state of Oregon after a wall of the Boeing aircraft became detached in mid-air. 

The authority requires that the aircraft be inspected before they are returned to service. 

The accident occurred on Friday evening. 

The plane, which was flown by Alaska Airlines, then turned around and made an emergency landing without any problems at Portland Airport.

After the accident, the airline announced that all of its 65 Boeing aircraft were grounded. 

”"We are working with Boeing and regulators to understand what happened tonight and will share updates as we have more information," Alaska Airlines CEO Ben Minicucci wrote on his website.
