A preliminary settlement between the parties in the train conflict in the United States has been reached, which is important for the US economy and the American people.
The White House wrote this in a press release on Thursday.
They note that railway workers will receive higher wages, improved working conditions and reassuring news regarding their healthcare costs.
It is also a success for transportation companies, who will be able to retain and hire more workers for a sector that remains very important to the US economy.
”I thank the unions and transportation companies for negotiating with confidence and reaching a tentative agreement that keeps our rail system running and avoids disruption to the economy,” President Joe Biden said in a statement.
A strike among railroad workers was planned from Friday, which could cause major disruptions to supply chains if not stopped by Congress.
