The United States will open its borders with Canada and Mexico in early November, government officials told several news agencies.
Fully vaccinated people will be allowed to enter the country, by land, regardless of the reason. This includes those who have received the AstraZeneca vaccine, which is not approved in the US.
The decision opens the door for both tourism and the possibility of increasing goods transport between the countries.
The US announced in September that it would open its borders to air travel from the EU and the UK starting in early November. Unlike those travelers, those arriving by land do not have to be tested for Covid.
