Västflyg is now launching a direct route from Växjö to Scandinavian Mountains Airport, while the existing route from Trollhättan-Vänersborg (Gothenburg Stallbacka) is returning. The news helps the airport head towards a record season with an extensive international and national flight program.
On January 8, 2026, the first plane will take off from Växjö Småland Airport with destination Sälen-Trysil. The initiative from the airline Västflyg meets a strongly growing demand from travelers in southern Sweden who want fast and smooth transportation to the mountains. The flights will take place on Thursdays and Sundays, perfectly suited for both weekly stays and shorter weekends.
“This is very encouraging news,” he says. Gunnar Lenman, CEO of Scandinavian Mountains Airport. We know that there is great interest from Småland and this line makes the journey up to our fantastic mountain environment considerably easier.
In parallel with the new line, Västflyg continues to operate the popular route from Trollhättan-Vänersborg (Gothenburg Stallbacka), securing an important connection for travelers in Western Sweden.
– We are proud and happy to be able to present this news. We see great potential in offering fast and comfortable trips to Sälen and Trysil and have good hopes of being able to expand traffic in the future, says Anna Petre, CEO of Västflyg.
