Air cargo company Atlas Air Worldwide is being bought out of the New York Stock Exchange. Reuters reports.

The $3 billion price tag, equivalent to SEK 30.3 billion, gives a share price of $102.50 per share. This corresponds to a premium of 35 percent compared to the share price before rumors of a potential buyout began circulating in the media. The share is currently trading at close to $100 per share.

Atlas Air also reported its second-quarter figures on Thursday, showing that profits fell by 18 percent due to higher fuel prices, while payroll costs increased by 26 percent.

On the buyer's side is a group of investors led by the venture capital company Apollo Global Management.

After this week's rise of nearly 28 percent, due to takeover speculation, Altas Air has a market value of just over $5.2 billion, equivalent to nearly SEK 52.6 billion.
