Plans to reduce aircraft capacity at one of Europe's largest airports - Schiphol in the Netherlands - are falling apart. The country's government did not follow proper procedure in its decision, which is now being overturned, according to a court ruling.

According to the previous decision, air traffic would be reduced by twelve percent to 440,000 flights annually by 2024, in order to make it easier for residents in the surrounding area, among other things.

However, this sparked strong protests from both the airline Air France–KLM and the international aviation organization IATA, which believed that the decision violated international regulations, among other things.
