Norrtåg's board of directors will decide who will run the Norrtåg train service from December 2025 and ten years onwards. Vy Tåg, which runs the service today, will be handed over to another party. 

– It was really sad. But we have a year and a half left, and we will continue right to the end, and deliver with the flag held high, says CEO Dag Lokrantz.  

Vy has invested a lot of energy and resources during the tender process and delivered a tender that ensured high quality for Norrtåg throughout the tender period, and which was also financially sustainable. 

Vy Tåg had a good offer, but unfortunately it turned out that we couldn't compete with the price.

 – It is both an advantage and a disadvantage to have good knowledge of a business. We know what things cost and we don't want to overprice ourselves, says Dag Lokrantz-Bernitz.

Vy Tåg continues its investment in Sweden. Some of the company's market advantages, says Lokrantz-Bernitz, are the strong corporate culture and the organization's competent employees: 
 
– We have low staff turnover and satisfied passengers. In addition, we have no staff shortage, which is an important component for stable traffic.
 
Vy Tåg is owned by the Norwegian Vygruppen and the Group Director for Trains, Erik Røhne, has strong confidence in the Swedish subsidiary:
