One of Jönköping's most popular hotels, Vox Hotel, is expanding. Together with property owner Fastighets AB Regio, the hotel is expanding with 76 new rooms, which means that the hotel will include a total of 219 rooms. The expansion strengthens both the hotel and the city center - and creates new opportunities for Jönköping as a meeting and visitor city.

In addition to more hotel rooms, the project also includes a renovation of the hotel lobby, a new restaurant kitchen, a new breakfast room and four new meeting spaces. The initiative is being carried out in collaboration between Strawberry, Regio and P&E Fastigheter.

– I am extremely happy that we now have the opportunity to take Vox to new heights. We know that it is already a very popular hotel and with the project we are now starting, we are raising our ambitions considerably. In short, a very good hotel will become even better. This builds Jönköping's city center stronger, increases the conditions for more meetings and makes the city more attractive for both Jönköping residents and visitors, says Petter Stordalen, owner of Strawberry.

Vox Hotel was acquired by Strawberry in 2017 and is part of the company's portfolio of independent hotels. When new space became available in the property, it provided the opportunity to realize the development plans that had been in place since the beginning.

– Vox is an important and long-term tenant for us. Through this investment, we are extending our collaboration and also have the opportunity to use vacant space in a way that benefits both the property and the city. For us as property owners, it is a clear example of how we create value by thinking long-term and being responsive to the needs of our tenants, says Marc von Melen, CEO of Regio.

The project is taking place in close collaboration between Regio and P&E Fastigheter, which is responsible for local development and management.

– This is a project we have been working on for a long time, and it feels very good that it is now becoming a reality. Developing Vox in this situation means a lot – not only for the hotel, but for the entire city center. More guests and more meetings in the city center have positive effects for restaurants, shops and everyone who moves around the center, says Peder Karlén, Regional Manager Jönköping at P&e Fastigheter.

Construction will begin immediately and the project is expected to be completed in the first quarter of 2027.
