VR receives the highest rating of all Swedish train companies in this year's survey from the Swedish Quality Index, SKI. With a customer satisfaction index of 76.7, VR ranks well above the industry average - and is thus named Sweden's most popular train company in 2025.

The Swedish Quality Index is an independent analysis company that annually measures travelers' perceptions of trains, buses and airlines in Sweden. This year's survey is the first to include VR since the Finnish VR Group took over the high-speed train service on the Stockholm–Gothenburg route in 2024. The company previously operated under the name MTRX.

VR's result of 76.7 in the customer satisfaction index is a full 9 units higher than the average in the entire travel industry, which includes companies such as SJ and Snälltåget, but also airline and bus companies, such as SAS and Flixbus. On the Stockholm-Gothenburg route, where VR competes with SJ, VR comes a full 21.6 units ahead of SJ in customer satisfaction.

– It is wonderful that we manage to make so many of our passengers satisfied, says Erik Wennerholm, acting CEO of VR Snabbtåg in Sweden. I believe that the success is based on our employees being committed to the entire travel experience. This is evident in everything from the service and experience on board to planning and traffic management. The result is a punctual, affordable and smooth journey.

VR is only 0.1 points below Vy bus4you, the travel company that travelers rank highest in this year's survey. During the eight years that its predecessor MTRX participated in the SKI survey, the company was consistently at the top in terms of satisfied train passengers and in the top tier overall in the travel industry, according to SKI.

“This year's results show that the strong trust from our travelers lives on under a new name and new owner,” says Erik Wennerholm. We do not take our position for granted, but we know that we must constantly listen to travelers and continue to develop.

According to SKI, customer satisfaction above 75 is very good, while customer satisfaction below 60 indicates great dissatisfaction.

According to the press release.
