Vy is investing in a total of 37 new buses for commercial traffic in Sweden. The investment includes 25 new buses for Vy flygbussarna and 12 new premium buses for Vy bus4you. The investment is part of Vy's long-term work to offer sustainable, reliable and comfortable trips with high comfort, while contributing to a better working environment for drivers.
Vy flygbussarna is being supplied with 25 new buses from Volvo Buses, which will be gradually put into service in Stockholm, Gothenburg and Malmö. The buses are built on Volvo's B13R chassis with bodies from Carrus Delta and offer modern technology, high operational reliability and improved fuel efficiency. The buses will be the first in Vy flygbussarna's new visual identity, with a dark grey design.
Vy bus4you is being delivered 12 new premium buses: five Setra TopClass S 531 DT double-deckers and seven Scania Irizar i8. The buses have been selected to offer high comfort, generous legroom and a first-class travel experience for guests traveling longer distances in Sweden and the Nordic region.

As part of the collaboration with Volvo Buses, Vy flygbussarna is also testing the new electric long-distance bus Volvo BZR Electric-CD in commercial traffic between Gothenburg and Gothenburg Landvetter Airport. The test provides valuable experience on how electrification works in real-world operation with high demands on comfort, accessibility and punctuality.
“We see great potential in electrification even for longer journeys. By testing the new electric coach in regular airport traffic, we gain important insights that will help us make informed decisions for the future,” says Zakaria Abna-Aissa.
The first of the new buses are already in service. The remainder will be delivered gradually during the year.
