Warning of extreme heat in Italy

Remove

Authorities in Italy have placed almost all major cities in the country on high alert from Monday in connection with a new heat wave.

Temperatures are expected to exceed 30 degrees Celsius and the warning means that the weather is ”likely to have harmful effects on the health of healthy and active people.” In some places, it could reach temperatures of up to 40 degrees Celsius.

Extensive fires have broken out in several southern European countries in recent weeks, as a result of high temperatures.
