Transport for London has granted licenses for several of Wayve's self-driving electric cars, bringing Uber and Wayve closer to launching self-driving trips in London, according to a press release from the companies.

Over 100,000 Londoners have registered interest in the service, and a limited number of passengers will be able to test the journeys later this summer, with a licensed driver on board who can intervene if necessary.
