The weak Swedish krona is attracting more and more tourists to Sweden. Despite the season, Stromma's boats are full. Since the restrictions were lifted less than a year ago, there has been increasing pressure on bookings for sightseeing tours.

More and more tourists want to see Sweden and are now taking advantage of the fact that the Swedish krona is at a record low and the country is therefore cheap to visit. According to the Swedish Agency for Economic and Regional Development, Swedish tourism increased by 16 percent after the corona pandemic and the trend seems to be continuing. 

"Tourists at this time of year come mainly from Germany, France, Italy and Spain. They are often here for shorter visits and would like to see our cities from the water," says Peter Henricson, Sweden manager at Stromma. 

Sightseeing tour bookings have increased by 13 percent compared to before the pandemic. Boat charters, i.e. booking an entire boat by a larger group or company, are also experiencing the same strong demand as during the record season of 2022.

"Last season, the pandemic had eased in many places, but not everywhere. This year we can look forward to even more long-distance visitors to our sightseeing tours in both Stockholm and Gothenburg," says Peter Henricson.
