SMHI has issued class 1 warnings in almost the entire country.

It's about lots of snow, icy conditions and strong gusts of wind.

In the far north, it is mainly the snow that can cause problems.
– We have a snowfall area that is moving north across northern Norrland. It has been snowing quite well. During the night it has been replenished with up to a few decimeters. It will continue to snow here throughout the night, says Tobias Palmblad, on-call meteorologist at SMHI.

Further south, warnings have been issued for ice drift.
– There has been a lot of rain and snow mixed rain over southern Norrland and Svealand. Partly it has fallen on cold surfaces which has made it slippery, partly now that it is moving away, surface temperatures are falling. This is mainly about Svealand and Gävleborg counties. Towards the morning hours it may freeze and become slippery in the morning traffic.

SMHI has issued warnings for patchy ice slips from Värmland, Dalarna and Gävleborg counties up towards Västernorrland county.
To the south it is also blowing strongly in places, with very strong gusts.

– We have a wind band that has come in overnight. It extends from northwestern Götaland and further up over Värmland and Örebro counties and towards Västmanland and further up over Dalarna and Gävleborg counties.

It will also be windy on Thursday morning.
– It is important to be a little cautious in general, the wind is over 21 meters per second in the villages, then branches and individual trees can break. It is good to be aware that it is a little windy, says Tobias Palmblad at SMHI.

The Swedish Transport Administration is warning of strong winds on the E6 at the Svinesund Bridge and the Uddevalla Bridge. At the latter, traffic has been closed to heavy traffic in both directions, until at least early Thursday morning.
