WestJet is strengthening its commitment to connections between Scandinavia and Eastern Canada by expanding its direct route between Copenhagen and Halifax during the 2026 summer season.

The airline currently operates the route three times a week, but from 1 July the frequency will increase to four departures per week. Flights will then be offered on Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays, and Sundays.

The direct flight offers European travellers a smooth route to Nova Scotia and the Canadian Atlantic provinces, an area that entices with coastal landscapes, national parks, and maritime experiences.

Direct flights to the Atlantic coast

WestJet's flight between Copenhagen and Halifax departs from Copenhagen at 11:35 and lands in Halifax at 14:05 local time. The return flight leaves Halifax at 22:35 and arrives in Copenhagen at 10:15 the following day.

The season runs until September, with the last departure from Copenhagen on 7 September 2026.

Focus on onboard comfort

On board, WestJet offers both Economy and Premium cabins. Travellers have access to complimentary Wi-Fi, snacks and drinks, as well as the service profile the airline describes as classic Canadian hospitality.

The expansion gives both leisure and business travellers greater flexibility when travelling between Scandinavia and Canada during peak season.

Growing interest in Atlantic Canada

Halifax serves as the gateway to Atlantic Canada and is a popular starting point for touring Nova Scotia, Prince Edward Island, New Brunswick, and Newfoundland. In recent years, the region has seen increased international interest, not least among European travellers seeking nature-focused experiences and less developed destinations.
