The mayor of Bologna believes he has a solution to the leaning Garisenda Tower, reports CNN.
About a year ago, it was discovered that the popular tourist magnet had developed cracks and researchers said it was at risk of collapsing.
Streets were blocked off and buildings evacuated. Now it has been decided to use the same equipment that stabilized the Leaning Tower of Pisa.
The 48-meter-high Garisenda Tower leans at four degrees, which is a little more than the more famous Tower of Pisa, which leans at 3.9 degrees.
The tower will be supported using steel pylon structures.
According to Mayor Matteo Lepore, it will probably cost around 19 million euros.
