Armenia is now becoming significantly more accessible to British travellers, with Wizz Air launching a new direct route between London Luton and Yerevan, strengthening links between the UK and the growing tourist destination in the Caucasus.
The first flight landed in Yerevan on June 8 and the new route operates twice a week, on Mondays and Fridays.
The new direct connection makes it easier for British visitors to discover Armenia’s combination of history, culture, nature and gastronomy. Yerevan, one of the world’s oldest continuously inhabited cities, serves as a base for trips to UNESCO-listed monasteries, dramatic mountain landscapes and a wine country with over 6,100 years of documented winemaking tradition, where the world’s oldest known winery has been discovered.
The destination also offers year-round activities, from hiking, cycling and skiing to a growing restaurant selection where traditional Armenian flavors meet modern gastronomy.

Whether visitors are looking for culture, gastronomy, adventure, history or a new destination, Armenia offers a unique experience that still feels genuine and authentic,” says Lusine Gevorgyan, Chairwoman of the Armenian Tourism Committee.
The new flight route is expected to strengthen tourism, business and cultural exchanges between Armenia and the UK, while also positioning the country as an alternative for travelers looking to discover lesser-known destinations outside of Europe's most established tourist destinations.
