Two Indian women have been arrested at an airport in Thailand, writes The Washington Post.

They were stopped at Suvarnabhumi International Airport and had their bags searched after border police became suspicious about the contents of their luggage.

In the bags, the police found, among other things, 50 lizards and 35 turtles.

At least two of the animals are said to have died.

The women now risk imprisonment for up to ten years and heavy fines.
