Rome Mayor Roberto Gualtieri reportedly supports the tourism director's proposal for a fee to climb the steps of the famous Baroque monument, the Trevi Fountain.

The ticket for the fountain is supposed to cost two euros, equivalent to 22 kronor. But such a fee must first be approved by Rome's city government.

The fee only applies to those who want to walk the nine steps to the fountain. Those who just walk in Trevi Square do not have to pay.
