A grand jury in the United States is demanding that aircraft manufacturer Boeing release documents from the development of the 737 Max aircraft, including written correspondence, emails and other messages, a source told The Wall Street Journal.
The March 11 lawsuit, which names a prosecutor from the Department of Justice as the contact person, states that the documents should be handed over later this month.
A Boeing spokesperson declined to comment on the information.
The aircraft type has recently been involved in two high-profile air accidents. On March 10, a Boeing 737 Max crashed in Ethiopia, killing 157 people, including four Swedes. On October 29 last year, a Boeing 737 Max crashed in Indonesia, killing 189 people.
Ethiopia's Transport Minister Dagmawit Moges has said that there are clear similarities between the two accidents, according to The Wall Street Journal.
