In August, Tivoli in Copenhagen will unveil its largest thematic investment to date. The new entertainment world, Hikari, spans 2,000 square metres and offers Japanese-inspired settings, five new eateries, and several new family attractions.

Hikari, which means ”light” in Japanese, replaces the previous Asia area after two years of extensive redevelopment. The new urban environment has been inspired by modern Japanese culture and combines entertainment, gastronomy, and experiences.

Visitors can choose between five new street food concepts with Japanese flavours, for both those who want to eat on-site and take food away.

The venture also includes two brand new attractions. Hotel Hikari takes guests on an imaginative journey through various hotel rooms, while Tyfonens Öga (Typhoon's Eye) offers a fast-paced family attraction where centrifugal force is at its core. At the same time, the popular rollercoaster Demonen is getting a new design that will be integrated into the new area.

The strong financial results of recent years have allowed us to invest even more ambitiously in the amusement park's development, says Tivoli CEO Susanne Mørch Koch.

She describes Hikari as the biggest themed investment in Tivoli's history. The investment amounts to a three-figure sum in the millions.
