The shipping company Viking Line is now starting a collaboration with the children's rights organization Maskrosbarn, where they will become corporate partners. The collaboration includes activities aimed at vulnerable children, further training for Viking Line's employees and fundraising for the organization.
The common goal of the collaboration between Viking Line and Maskrosbarn is to improve the living conditions for children with parents who have an addiction, a mental illness or who expose them to violence.
–Viking Line is committed to sustainability in all its forms, of which social responsibility is an important part. Every year we welcome five million passengers on our five ships, of which just over 15 percent are children under the age of 18. For many children, traveling with us is a wonderful break from everyday life, but sometimes we also encounter situations where we discover that broader support from the adult world is needed. Through Maskrosbarn, our employees are given tools to be able to contribute where needed, says Dani Lindberg, Sustainability Manager for Viking Line.
During the year, Maskrosbarn will train Viking Line employees on how to best recognize and support vulnerable children. The shipping company will also invite children who are part of Maskrosbarn's support activities to the ships, where there is everything from a ball pit, good food, a spa and relaxing spaces.

Maskrosbarn is a non-profit, politically and religiously independent organization. The organization works to ensure that children between the ages of 13-19 have the chance to talk about their difficult home situations, perhaps for the very first time. Maskrosbarn offers long-term support, community and the opportunity to change their own lives.
