The Accident Investigation Board has decided to open an investigation after a train derailed south of Hudiksvall on Monday after the storm caused the embankment to collapse, reports Echo.

Two passenger carriages on the train, which was en route from Stockholm to Sundsvall, left the tracks. More than a hundred passengers on board had to be evacuated.

Three people were taken to hospital in connection with the accident.
