The airline SAS has reached agreements with two additional lessors, accounting for a total of seven aircraft, regarding changed terms in existing lease agreements for aircraft and equipment.

This is stated in a press release.

Including the amended lessor agreements announced by SAS on October 5, the airline has now reached agreements with a total of twelve lessors, representing a total of 43 aircraft, as part of the Chapter 11 process.

SAS states that through the amended lease agreements, the company is well on its way to achieving the planned annual cost savings of at least SEK 850 million to 1.0 billion in reduced aircraft leasing costs and reduced capital costs, which is an important part of achieving the annual cost savings of SEK 7.5 billion by the 2026 financial year as part of the SAS Forward plan. 

”"The company intends to continue negotiations with certain other of its lessors to effect further amendments to existing lease agreements," it further stated.

SAS has been performing very strongly on the stock market lately. In the last ten days, the share is up almost 40 percent.
