Five-year collaboration with TCS will streamline operations, lead talent development and accelerate AI adoption to create seamless, technology-driven experiences for over 15 million passengers annually.

Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) and Air New Zealand have entered into a five-year collaboration to modernise the airline's digital infrastructure and position it at the forefront of AI-driven innovation. The collaboration aims to improve Air New Zealand's digital capabilities, customer experiences and efficiencies in areas such as aircraft maintenance, crew scheduling and ground services.

The agreement was announced at a ceremony at TCS Banyan Park Campus in Mumbai, attended by New Zealand Prime Minister Christopher Luxon, Tata Group Chairman Natarajan Chandrasekaran, Air New Zealand CEO Greg Foran, and TCS CEO K. Krithivasan, among others.

By leveraging TCS's expertise in cutting-edge technology, we can enhance customer experience, streamline operations, and strengthen our commitment to cybersecurity and data protection. TCS will be a key partner in delivering our digital transformation in shipping and enhancing our digital retail capabilities”, says Greg Foran, CEO of Air New Zealand.

We are excited to partner with Air New Zealand on their journey to becoming a digitally advanced airline. With our expertise in the aviation industry and our ability to drive innovation at scale, TCS will help Air New Zealand set new standards for efficiency, sustainability and customer engagement”, says K. Krithivasan, CEO of TCS.

TCS will streamline Air New Zealand’s digital services across a broad range of applications by integrating AI-powered automation and cloud technologies into the airline’s core functions. It will drive innovation in cargo services, disruption management, retail offerings, maintenance systems and crew operations. Skills development will also be a key focus, with TCS leading large-scale programs to strengthen digital skills in AI, cybersecurity and digital technology.
