AIR GOTLAND EXPANDS WITH MORE DEPARTURES

Remove

After a month in the air, Air Gotland chooses to increase the number of departures between Visby and Stockholm Bromma with an additional eight departures per week.

On August 13, AirGotland took off for the first time with its 33-seat Saab 340, flown by Sprint Air. Both companies and private travelers showed great interest and willingness to travel from day one, according to Air Gotland. One of the company's promises, which is also the basis of its business concept, is to have a tight schedule, seven days a week.

Against this background, AirGotland is now choosing to increase traffic between Gotland and Stockholm Bromma and this is being done in two stages, firstly more departures on Thursdays, Fridays and Sundays. In the coming days, traffic will also be increased on Wednesdays and right now it is likely that Mondays will also have more departures in the coming month.

”"We are the company that dared to go against the grain and invest locally in small, efficient and safe aircraft when everyone else with large machines panicked and shut down. Many people called us idiots when we announced that we were going to start, just when the biggest threat to the aviation industry was on the doorstep," says Pigge Werkelin, one of the founders. We really went against the grain and did the opposite of everyone else! That was also the success factor with Gotlandsflyg and was just as right then as it is now, he continues.

Otherwise, Air Leap, Amapola and SAS also fly year-round between Visby and Stockholm, and in the summer, Norwegian also operates Visby-Stockholm.
