Andreas most recently came from the role of Head of Business at the County Administrative Board in Norrbotten. Before that, he was CEO of the Norrbotten Chamber of Commerce.

His passion and drive lies in regional development and he comes to an organization and industry in strong growth.

— To me, Andreas feels like a real top recruit, says Jalle Svanberg, Chairman of the Swedish Lapland Visitors Board, and continues:

— When we realized that our previous CEO was leaving, we set up a number of criteria for what the next CEO, in the best case scenario, could bring to the organization. And Andreas ticks every box.

— The tourism industry has grown into a new basic industry in our Arctic region and with Andreas we can enter the next phase, becoming an even stronger player in our own industry but also in regional development.

Andreas Lind most recently comes from the Norrbotten County Administrative Board, where he has been Head of Business Affairs since 2014. Before that, he was CEO of the Norrbotten Chamber of Commerce between 2008 and 2014.

— Through my work at both the County Administrative Board and the Chamber of Commerce, I have had the opportunity to follow developments in Swedish Lapland closely, so of course it feels inspiring to have the chance to work with an organization with strong momentum.

— The tourism industry within the destination is experiencing strong growth and has also taken giant steps in its professionalization in recent years. The industry has become a basic industry that highlights the best that northern Sweden, our Arctic part of the world, has to offer.

— Since my heart has always been in the development of northern Sweden, it feels extra nice that the tourism industry also has clear ripple effects everywhere in society – from the largest cities to the smallest villages.

The industry has developed well in recent years. Large private investments have been made, while the Swedish Lapland Visitors Board has run a couple of Sweden's largest tourism projects. In parallel, cooperation has been initiated with Northern Norway and Finnish Lapland, to put the Arctic part of the region on the map.

— Through my previous work, I have followed this development closely and of course it feels inspiring to have a new job in an industry that is doing so well.

Andreas Lind is a passionate fly fisherman himself and loves to be out with his boat in the Bothnian Bay archipelago as well as hiking in the mountains. Mountains and sea, sea and mountains. So he sees no problem with embracing the idea of working with an Arctic lifestyle. He finds joy in it himself. He will take up the position as CEO of the Swedish Lapland Visitors Board on November 1st and will then work in parallel with the previous CEO for a while, to create the best possible conditions for a smooth transition and continued high pace within the region's fastest growing industry.

"I really look forward to being part of this professional organization and to working daily to create better conditions for all talented companies in the region. The challenges we face are great, but the potential is even greater," he concludes.
