Therefore, the tour operator is now expanding its winter program with another destination in Africa: Gambia!

Swedes will always love the Canary Islands, but more and more people want to experience new places, get to know new cultures, try new flavors and broaden their horizons – and Gambia meets all their holiday needs, ”says Martina Krantz, press officer at Apollo.
The Gambia may be Africa’s smallest country, but its captivating array of great experiences and activities belies its small size. The miles of sandy beaches are of course an attraction in themselves, but here you can also kayak in the moonlight, explore national and cultural parks, learn local culinary skills, go treasure hunting in colorful markets and treat yourself to a day on a boat on the famous Gambia River.
”In Gambia, the pace is slow, but the opportunities are many. Here you can relax in good hotels or fill your holiday with experiences, senses and tastes that you will not soon forget. The variety and the relatively short travel distance also make this a good destination for everyone – from families with children and groups of friends to adults and active travelers,” says Krantz.

When Apollo launches its newest destination, it is also making a big move when it comes to the flight solution. From Sweden, you fly via Copenhagen – where you are then taken directly to Banjul with a SAS A321neo LR. This is the same type of aircraft that the airline uses on its long-haul flights to, for example, New York.
This means, among other things, that Apollo's passengers will have three different classes to choose from: SAS Charter Standard, SAS Charter Plus and SAS Charter Business.
– ”There is no doubt that this will be one of the world's best charter flights. We are talking about a unique and first-class flying experience from start to finish, which no other charter aircraft comes close to being able to compare to in the Scandinavian market,” says Krantz.
Apollo's first flight to Gambia departs on November 5th and the last one departs on April 1st. This means that Swedes can spend their autumn, Christmas, winter and Easter holidays along Africa's mildest coast. In total, the tour operator will offer 10 hotels in different categories in different areas, including Kololi, Kotu and Bakau (Cape Point).
