Arlandastad Group, with Ilija Batljan's SBB as one of the largest owners, is purchasing Skavsta Airport, according to a press release.
Arlandastad is purchasing 90.1 percent of Skavsta Airport and will simultaneously develop 4.84 million square meters of land in partnership with Nyköping Municipality. The acquisition concerns the company Airports Worldwide Sweden Holding, which is currently owned by the French Vinci Airports.
”"The purchase price is based on SEK 117 million, of which SEK 29 million is paid in cash and the remainder through the assumption of debts," the press release states.
A solar park, with a capacity of nearly 100 megawatt hours, will also be built in the area.
The remaining 9.9 percent remains in the ownership of Nyköping Municipality.
”"This project suits us perfectly, it has the same potential as our project in Arlandastad. Nyköping has a very attractive location with proximity to Stockholm, the E4, the Baltic Sea's deepest port in Oxelösund, the planned Ostlänken railway and not least an airport with foreign destinations," says Dieter Sand, CEO of Arlandastad Group, in a comment.
Stockholm Skavsta Airport is Sweden's fourth largest airport in terms of the number of passengers.
The largest owner in Arlandastad is the founder and billionaire Per Taube. The second largest owner is Ilija Batljan's Samhällsbyggnadsbolaget i Norden (SBB).
