Copenhagen's Kastrup Airport plans to lay off 650 full-time employees as a consequence of the coronavirus pandemic. It reports DR.

The company that owns Kastrup Airport announced on Wednesday that it plans to lay off 650 full-time employees, writes Danish public service broadcaster DR. For comparison, the airport currently has 2,600 full-time employees.

The notice was announced in connection with the company's half-year report, which showed that the airport had a deficit of 178 million Danish kroner during the first half of the year.

”"All figures and forecasts show that air traffic does not seem to return to the same level in the foreseeable future. Many estimate that aviation will only normalize somewhere between 2022 and 2024," says Thomas Woldbye, CEO of Copenhagen Airport, to DR.
