American aircraft manufacturer Boeing took no new orders in July. At the same time, 43 orders for the troubled 737 Max model were canceled, the company wrote in a press release.
Boeing itself states that July was the sixth consecutive month in which the number of cancellations exceeded the number of new orders.
So far this year, customers have canceled nearly 400 aircraft of the troubled 737 Max model, which is currently grounded after two high-profile accidents in Indonesia and Ethiopia in 2018 and 2019, respectively.
During July, the company managed to deliver four aircraft – two 787 Dreamliners and two freighters.
Last month, Boeing announced that the company was lowering production forecasts for several models due to the lower demand caused by the corona pandemic.
Despite the gloomy order figures, Boeing's strong trend on Wall Street continues. On Tuesday, the stock rose 3.5 percent after yesterday's rise of 5.5 percent. In the last seven trading days, the stock has now risen more than 16 percent.
