Aircraft manufacturer Boeing has started to ramp up deliveries and in June reached the highest monthly figure since March 2019.

The company delivered 51 aircraft in June and a total of 216 aircraft in the first half of the year, an increase of 38 percent compared to the same period last year, according to data.

June exceeded 50 aircraft for the first time since March 2019 and included 43 Boeing 737 MAX.

Net orders for the first half of the year, after cancellations and orders that are unlikely to be fulfilled, amount to 205. Competitor Airbus announced on Friday that it had received 259 net orders.

Boeing shares surge over 7 percent as the best-performing stock in the Dow Jones index.

Airlines are also seeing strong gains on Tuesday. American Airlines is up nearly 11 percent, while United Airlines and Delta Air Lines are trading up 8.2 and 6.7 percent, respectively.
