After two years of sharing the CEO position at Kolmården and Skara Sommarland, Christine Karmfalk is now handing over the leadership to Skara Sommarland's current site manager Christoffer Östling. Karmfalk will focus wholeheartedly on Kolmården going forward, and Christoffer Östling will step in as acting CEO of Skara Sommarland starting January 1st of this year.

Since 2022, Christine Karmfalk has held dual CEO positions for both Kolmården and Skara Sommarland, a change that came into effect when the then CEO of Skara Sommarland, Janne Nilsson, moved on to new assignments. Through coordinated leadership with Kolmården, it was possible for Skara Sommarland to quickly receive increased resources, secure leadership and long-term cultural development, something that has now been implemented. Christine Karmfalk will therefore hand over the baton of leadership, in order to focus wholeheartedly on Kolmården. Christoffer Östling was hired as site manager at Skara Sommarland in early 2023 and will be acting CEO from January 1.

– As site manager, Christoffer Östling has shown very good leadership and he also has a great understanding of our business and the importance of good guest meetings. Therefore, we feel very confident that he will continue to drive the leadership at Skara Sommarland when Christine Karmfalk focuses wholeheartedly on Kolmården. Christoffer will take over as acting CEO initially, with the hope that it will be a permanent solution, says Joanna Hammar, vice president at Parks and Resorts.

– Christoffer has done a fantastic job this summer and I feel very confident in handing over the leadership to him. Now I look forward to visiting the park this summer as a guest, says Christine Karmfalk, CEO of Kolmården.

– It is of course very nice to receive this trust and I am extremely excited for the upcoming season. Recruitment is currently in full swing and I am really looking forward to opening the park again and meeting all our fantastic employees and guests, says Christoffer Östling, new acting CEO at Skara Sommarland.
