Demand for international travel continued to increase at Swedavia's ten airports during June. At the same time, domestic travel decreased, primarily due to reduced supply, with the exception of Visby Airport where supply and demand strengthened. A total of just over 3.2 million passengers traveled via the airports during the month. This is an increase of 0.5 percent compared to June 2025. International travel increased by just under three percent in total, while domestic travel decreased by eight percent.
As in May, the development in June was mainly driven by a continued increase in international travel. Demand for air travel continues to be affected by the uncertain global situation, not least the situation in the Middle East, while higher fuel prices contribute to a slowdown in the growth rate. Overall, the trend means that international travel continues to increase, but at a lower rate than previously.
Stockholm Arlanda Airport, Sweden's largest airport, had just over 2.3 million passengers in June. Total travel is on par with travel for the corresponding month in 2025. International travel increased by just under two percent to just over two million passengers and domestic travel decreased by twelve percent to just over 314,000 passengers.
Gothenburg Landvetter Airport had just over 560,000 passengers in June. This was an increase of three percent compared to last year's travel in the same month. International travel increased by four percent to just over 525,000 passengers, while domestic travel decreased by 17 percent and amounted to almost 38,000 passengers.
Among Swedavia's other eight airports, Visby Airport and Malmö Airport showed positive overall development. Visby increased by 16 percent, driven by increased supply and demand. At Malmö, international traffic increased as a result of stronger supply and increased demand, while domestic development was dampened by weaker supply.
Bromma Stockholm Airport had a total of just under 13,000 travelers in June, which corresponded to six percent of pre-pandemic levels in 2019.
