A possible strike affects around 100,000 public sector employees in Denmark, but is now postponed until May 8. The lockout of 440,000 public sector employees is also postponed until May 12, reports News Øresund.

Approximately 15,000 passengers are transported by train over the bridge every day. The strike was supposed to have taken place on Sunday or the night before Monday – something that Skånetrafiken had previously prepared for.

– We hope that the parties will agree, but we are preparing for a strike by having a traffic plan that means we will run bus services between Hyllie and Kastrup if there is a strike, says Magnus Andersson at Skånetrafiken's operations hotline to Sydsvenskan.

Mediation negotiations between unions and employers in the public sector will resume on Friday. The parties disagree on salary increases for the next three years, among other things.
