Danish travel company Aventura Rejser is buying the bankrupt estate of Detur. The deal does not make it easier for Detur customers who have applied for refunds.
The package holiday company Detur went bankrupt in October 2022 after a period where holidays were cancelled at short notice and the company delayed in refunding money to those affected.
The Danish The BT newspaper quoting Adventura Rejsers CEO Torbjörn K Simonsen as saying that he is aware that the brand is damaged, but that the company has paid a large sum to the bankruptcy estate.
”From our side, the matter is closed. We have purchased the naming rights for Detur in Denmark, Norway, Sweden, Finland, and so on. This is an agreement made with the bankruptcy estate administrator,” Torben K Simonsen tells the newspaper.
SVT reports that the Swedish authority Kammarkollegiet has received around 12,000 applications for travel guarantees. However, it is uncertain if everyone will get their money back for their cancelled trips.
