Most duty-free goods are more expensive than online

Shopping at tax-free shops may be perceived as bargain hunting. But, according to Prisjakt, eight out of ten products cost more at the airport than in online stores.

On average, goods in duty-free shops are 39 per cent more expensive than those online, according to the price comparison website's new survey. The survey includes items such as perfume, makeup, and sunglasses.

”Finds exist, but they require you to have done your research. Check the price online before you buy. It takes thirty seconds and can save you hundreds of kronor,” says Isabella Ahmadi, consumer expert at Prisjakt, in a press release.

The price survey covered 1,048 products available at Arlanda Airport and in online shops on 9–10 June. Of these, 865 were cheaper online.
