Denmark is lowering restrictions on permitted public gatherings from 100 to 50 people in Copenhagen and 18 other municipalities in the capital area and in Odense. The reason is that the country has seen an increased spread of corona infections, Danish media reports.
During the government press conference, it was also announced that bars and restaurants must close by midnight. The planned expansion of the possibility of having spectators at football matches in the Danish Superliga, the highest men's football league, and other events has been postponed, according to Danish TV2.
In the past 24 hours, 230 Danes have tested positive for coronavirus. This compares with Sweden's 168 new cases on Saturday and 63 new cases on Sunday. On Friday, Sweden had 263 new cases, according to the Public Health Agency.
Copenhagen now has 40 infected people per 100,000 inhabitants, according to the mayor of the city of Copenhagen, Frank Jensen.
