Low-cost airline easyJet is strengthening its presence in Scandinavia, launching two new direct routes from the UK to Scandinavian Mountains Airport – the gateway to Sweden’s largest ski area Sälen and Norway’s largest ski resort Trysil. From Saturday 6 December 2025, UK travellers will be able to fly direct from both London Gatwick (LGW) and Manchester (MAN) every Saturday during the winter season. The move is the result of a new five-year partnership agreement, underlining a long-term commitment to the region.
The new routes will operate throughout the winter season and offer British ski and winter enthusiasts significantly easier and faster access to the well-known and popular destinations of Sälen in Sweden and Trysil in Norway. Both ski resorts are within easy transfer distance from the airport. The launch significantly strengthens the accessibility of the region for one of its most important international markets.
– Welcoming easyJet with two new routes from the UK is fantastic news for both the airport and the entire region. It underlines the attractiveness of the region and the airport and is the result of good cooperation. It significantly improves accessibility and we really look forward to welcoming even more British guests to the area, says Gunnar Lenman, CEO of Scandinavian Mountains Airport.
“We are delighted to further expand our winter destination offering for customers with two new routes from the UK to the Scandinavian mountains, as we continue to strengthen our network and offer even more choice to our customers across the UK. We are particularly pleased to welcome a new destination to our network, one that is expected to be popular with outdoor adventurers and those looking to explore this beautiful region of Scandinavia,” said Ali Gayward, Country Manager at easyJet.
