An employee at the Montgomery, Alabama, airport died on New Year's Eve while working near a parked American Airlines Embraer 170.

This is stated by the American National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB), writes The Guardian.

The employee was reportedly sucked into one of the plane's engines, which was idling at the time.

A preliminary report on what caused the tragic accident is expected within the next few weeks, the NTSB said.
