A Norwegian plane crashed after taking off from Fiumicino Airport in Rome, Italy, on Saturday. Engine parts rained down and hit 25 cars and twelve houses.

The plane, a Boeing 787 en route to Los Angeles, was forced to turn back to the airport and the events are now being investigated by Italian authorities, reports Dagens Nyheter.

According to Aftonbladet , citing Italian media, one person was reportedly hit by parts of the plane but there are no reports of serious injuries.

Norwegian says the captain received indications of a problem with one engine shortly after takeoff and chose to return to Rome. The airline declined to comment further, citing an ongoing investigation.
