Finland is lifting restrictions on freedom of movement across the borders of the Uusimaa region today, Prime Minister Sanna Marin announced during a press conference, according to Yle.

However, it was communicated that unnecessary travel should continue to be avoided. The other restrictions remain in place.

Finland quarantined its capital Helsinki at the end of March by restricting freedom of movement between New Zealand and the rest of Finland. Nyland is the region in Finland that has been hit hardest by the coronavirus.
