Finnair Cargo will take over the operation of the Cargo COOL terminal at Helsinki Airport through a business transfer from Swissport Finland. The change will take effect on 1 January 2027.

In connection with the transfer, the Swissport Finland personnel currently working at the Cargo COOL terminal will transfer to Finnair Cargo Oy. The employees will retain their current employment conditions.

Finnair Cargo has decided not to continue its service agreement with Swissport Finland regarding warehousing and transport operations at the Cargo COOL terminal. The current agreement is valid until the end of this year.

The decision is part of Finnair Cargo's ongoing evaluation of its operations and aims to strengthen the company's end-to-end processes, working methods and efficiency, as well as create conditions for future growth.

Finnair Cargo's warehousing and transport operations were outsourced in 2009, and Swissport Finland has been responsible for these functions since 2019. The operational transition is expected to involve approximately 150 employees. After the transition, Finnair Cargo will have over 250 employees.

Finnair Cargo is one of the leading air cargo companies in Northern Europe and a subsidiary of Finnair. The company specializes in the transport of temperature-controlled cargo, such as seafood, pharmaceuticals and other perishable products. The Cargo COOL terminal at Helsinki Airport, which opened in 2018, is one of the world's most modern air cargo terminals.
