The protracted labour dispute in the Finnish aviation industry is over after the trade union Airline Union (IAU) and the industry association reached a result in negotiations, reports Hufvudstadsbladet.

Late Saturday evening, the third negotiation proposal was approved by both parties, and there will be no more strikes. The strikes previously announced on five occasions over the next two weeks have been cancelled.

The conflict that led to the ground staff going on strike was about whether unpaid salary increases during the corona pandemic would be taken into account in the next agreement.

Over 1,200 flights have been canceled since the beginning of May as a result of the strike, affecting thousands of travelers.
