Relatives of one of the victims of a plane crash involving a Boeing plane in Ethiopia will receive compensation equivalent to over 461 million kronor.
A court jury in Chicago has decided that.
The accident plane, a Boeing The family of 24-year-old Samya Stumo, who died in the 737 Max crash in Ethiopia in March 2019, has been awarded $49.5 million in damages.
All other cases where relatives have sued Boeing after the crash have been settled out of court as the parties have managed to reach settlements.
Just five months before the accident, a similar crash occurred in Indonesia, killing 189 people. Both accidents led to the aircraft model being completely taken out of service.
