Stockholm tourists now have an environmentally friendly alternative for sightseeing tours. Among the conventional diesel-powered tourist boats, a modern type of tourist boat has been visible for a couple of weeks. Sightseeing Ride's boats are powered entirely by electricity.

Sightseeing Ride was started in 2022 and is a new, electric-powered newcomer among Stockholm's tourist boats. The founder, who has long experience in the tourist boat industry, was missing an environmentally friendly alternative among the boats.

– Boat traffic in Stockholm emits large amounts of both carbon dioxide and nitrogen oxide and also needs to be included in the climate transition. Not contributing to the pollution of Stockholm's air and water was a given when we started Sightseeing Ride, says CEO and founder Jens Rogeman (who has a past at Strömma).

In addition to electric propulsion, Sightseeing Ride's route and guides stand out from the conventional tourist boats.

– We want to give tourists the story of, and the feeling of, Stockholm. It is not enough to just know all the facts about our city. That is why we have hired trained actors who really bring our beautiful capital to life.
Sightseeing Ride's boats are also the only boats in Stockholm that can go under both Strömbron and Beckholmsbron, Jens continues.

– We can therefore show our tourists completely different sides of the city by, among other things, going around Beckholmen and going closer to the quays than anyone else. The fact that the boats are open also gives the guest a panoramic view of Stockholm.

Sightseeing Ride was founded in Stockholm in 2022 with, among others, former CEO of Strömma, Jan Larsén, as one of the investors and currently has three boats in operation.
