Hundreds of thousands of mountain tourists are expected - Skistar urges staff to get vaccinated

Lift shelters and staff only being allowed to stay with coworkers – these are some of the things that Skistar is bringing with it from the pandemic seasons into this year's winter season.

The eased restrictions are encouraging for the upcoming ski season, says Skistar. But there are some things caused by the pandemic that the company is also bringing into this year's season.

– We became more digital very quickly last season. Digital check-in, digital purchase of ski passes, the possibility of having ski equipment delivered home – there are many positive things that we are taking with us, explains destination manager Jonas Bauer.

Some attitudes remain – and encourage staff to get vaccinated

Lift cages in the lift systems will remain to some extent and employees will only be allowed to live with their colleagues. However, Jonas Bauer is careful to emphasize that the company is only encouraging vaccination – it is not a requirement among employees.

– If you feel the slightest bit unwell, you stay home. We continue to wash our hands, use alcohol wherever possible, so that we always do it in such a good way and continue the journey of saying that "we are putting this pandemic behind us.".
